The Little Mercies
The Little Mercies are a rising force in modern old-time music, blending deep-rooted tradition with fearless originality. Meet the band: Bronwyn Chelette (banjo, bass, voice) raised on Appalachian lullabies in the Florida panhandle; Shanice Richards (fiddle, voice), who learned rhythm in a Jamaican church before she learned to walk; and Rosalee Walsh (fiddle, voice), raised in a mountain town in Colorado with Bill Monroe in one ear and the Grateful Dead in the other. Three friends, one chance meeting, and two years later: a band selling out rooms and racking up honors, including a Folk Alliance showcase, a finalist nod for the Freshgrass Awards and a tour opening for Rhiannon Giddens.
